Theaterwelt 2026: Minihorror

THEATERWELT 2026, en su décima edición, reúne dramaturgia contemporánea de Alemania, Austria y Suiza para crear un espacio de intercambio con la escena teatral mexicana. Los textos seleccionados se traducen al español y son llevados a escena por directores y elencos mexicanos. En 2026, el festival gira en torno a la migración, la identidad y la pertenencia, a través de cuatro obras, además de talleres, conversaciones con dramaturgos y actividades especiales en Ciudad de México y Guadalajara.

Double Nominated for the Nestroy Award 2024: Best Independent Production and Best Costume Design for Young Talents. While nothing is in order in the world, people are overwhelmed, have no future, but still discuss “what is normal,” Mini and Miki try to fit in and do everything right. BANG! Despite this – or precisely because of it – they are pursued by dangers and monsters, by catastrophes and difficulties. In this everyday horror, they are not even sure of their own death: “Besides, that doesn’t change anything. Even if we are dead now and think we are not, we will continue to stress ourselves, work, get sick, and feel pain. So we have to live, even if we are dead.” BONK! Mini and Miki are dragged into the extravagant adventures of urban everyday life and struggle to achieve happiness. It is about the big and small nightmares of the middle class, about the abyss that opens every day and no longer wants to close. SPLAT! The art consists in recognizing the moment just before the catastrophe. This art is the most difficult, but Mini, at least until now, has always managed to get by somehow. Until now... OOOPS!
